1. App Download and Install

For iOS - Download the "Anyscan" App from App Store

For Android - Download the '' Anyscan" APP from Google Play or the Official Website(Support- Download APP- Anyscan)

2. Bind and activate the dongle in the APP

Find S/N and activation code on the quality certificate

Xtool's A30M is best scanner available for the price point in my opinion

After checking reviews and doing research on features vs. cost, I ordered the Xtool A30M from XtoolGlobal. Living in western Canada I expected the unit to arrive in the 5 - 7 day window identified. Instead, the A30M arrived only one day after it was ordered and it was in perfect condition. Setting up the A30M was easy and the numerous updates installed well and went quickly.

I currently also have a mid-level Innova code scanner. The A30M cost a bit more but it does much, much more and is easier to use. I have used the A30M on each of my three vehicles with good results. My 22 year old Toyota van is considered OBD2 old protocol by the A30M so I had to input the VIN and mileage. Less scanning options were available on this older vehicle, along with less bi-directional diagnosis ability, but I was already advised this by Xtool when I emailed them prior to my A30M purchase to confirm that my vehicles would all work with the A30M. My other vehicles are both newer Toyota hybrids and both were quickly identified by the A30M with regard to VIN and mileage, along with many more scanning options.

Overall, the A30M identified some codes that my Innova did not. The reporting and sharing of results abilities on the A30M are a game changer compared to the Innova. The bi-direction abilities to help diagnose causes of problems are extremely useful. I am happy with the A30M and I use it for DIY maintenance on my vehicles. After seeing what my A30M can do, a couple of my friends plan to order the same scanner.

With bi-directionality features and full multi-module CAN BUS scanning, this makes it a bargain.

I do recommend buying a cheap Android tablet for better visibility.

Drained my battery, caused the Engine Light to come ON, the light mode doesn't work

I purchased two of these same devices: XTOOL Anyscan A30M, and on both, the light function would not work. The first one I ordered through Walmart, but when I contacted XTOOL, they said, quote: Hi dear,

"So sorry dear we can't find Walmart sellers.
please try to contact Walmart to request a change or return this device. It seems broken."
So since they didn't support their product if purchased through a different seller, I nothing. I removed the XTOOL A30M, and I had to charge my car battery for an hour ordered another directly from Xtool Official Car Dignostic TOOL Store . I got my money back from Walmart - it took 4.5 weeks. When the second one arrived, I found that the built-in light didn't work either, but I thought I would try it out anyway. It wasn't easy to pair the device to my phone, and the auto VIN didn't work at first. Once I did get it paired and communicating with my 2014 Jeep Cherokee, I went through several of the main functions of the XTOOL. I was looking to see what problems I might have and didn't have it "fix" anything, but my Check Engin light came on! I left it plugged in, and the next morning when I needed to go to work, the car battery was DEAD. Nothing worked, wouldn't start, and I couldn't open the back hatch door before I barely got it to start. The Engine Light stayed on for days. It finally reset itself. I'm not impressed.
