The issue typically stems from a mismatch in the device’s internal serial number and the one printed on the product label.

⚠️ What Causes the “Invalid License” Message?

The root cause is a discrepancy between the serial number (SN) burned into the device’s VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) and the SN shown on the packaging or device sticker. When these don't match, the system cannot validate the license—thus triggering the warning popup.

🛠 How to Identify the Problem

If you see the error message, follow these steps:

  1. Take a Screenshot
    Open the Anyscan app and go to:
    Settings > About
    Capture a screenshot showing the SN displayed in the app.

  2. Compare Serial Numbers
    Check whether the SN in the app matches the SN on the back of your A30 device or on the included card.

✅ Two Solutions Available

Depending on your preference and urgency, there are two ways to resolve the issue:

Option 1: Re-register Using the VCI Serial Number

  • Contact XTOOL support with the VCI’s SN (as shown in the app).

  • The support team will provide a new activation code.

  • Use this SN and code to register again on the Anyscan app.

  • ⚠️ Note: The SN shown in the app and the one on your device will not match. This might cause confusion during future updates or warranty claims.
    Please always use the SN displayed on the device screen as the official serial number, not the one on the back label.

Option 2: Return or Exchange the Device

  • Request a return and replacement through your original seller.

  • Be sure to mention the “Invalid License” issue so the defective unit is properly handled.

  • These devices must be returned to the factory for recalibration.
