XTOOL D9HD

I’ve been using scan tools for years and decided it was time to get something that could handle both 12V cars and 24V heavy trucks professionally. After a lot of research, I picked up the XTOOL D9HD, and I couldn't be happier with my decision.

First off, the quality is outstanding — just like the high-end scanners I’ve used before, but D9HD adds heavy truck support, which is a huge plus for my workshop. It connects quickly, reads all modules, and the interface is very intuitive. I tested it on Freightliner, Kenworth, Mack, and even Volvo trucks — no issues at all. It pulls codes, does live data, bi-directional tests like activating injectors and cooling fans, and even supports online coding for VW, Ford, Mazda, and more. For cars, it handles everything from ABS, SRS, transmission to engine diagnostics with full coverage.

One feature I absolutely love is the new Topology Mapping. It visually shows all the communication lines between modules, making it much easier and faster to pinpoint issues. Also, the Pre & Post scan report function is a game-changer for my business — now I can give customers a full before/after diagnostic report, complete with my shop's logo and notes. It looks very professional.

The D9HD also comes with 3 years of free updates, and it covers over 10,000 vehicle models — both cars and trucks. Plus, the battery lasts all day, and I can switch between Bluetooth or cable connection easily, depending on what I need.

If you're serious about diagnostics and want a heavy-duty AND automotive scanner that is reliable, accurate, and packed with pro-level features without paying $8000+ like some brands, the D9HD is a no-brainer. It's truly a shop-quality tool at a reasonable price. Highly recommend!

We operate our business from a repurposed factory and one area of the building is used for storage of luxury sports cars and our small fleet of utility trucks. We have an on sight mechanic to help car storage customers who have stored vehicles for months and also to keep up on maintaining our own trucks. Our fleet manager loves this and it works with every type of vehicle we encounter.

This scan tool has become a regular part of my maintenance routine for my small fleet of delivery trucks. I deal with a mix of Cummins and International engines, and I find this to be compatible and it connects reliably. The ability to perform DPF regeneration has been beneficial. I had an instance with one of my older trucks where the DPF was constantly clogging. Using this scan tool, I was able to identify the problem before it became an issue, therefore saving some downtime.

The all systems diagnostic is useful. It's not just the engine, it also covers the transmission and ABS. I can check more systems than just the engine itself. The live data graphing, where you get to see four data streams at once, makes it easy to see what's going on. It has a very user friendly interface, and with the built in DTC lookup, fault codes are easy to decipher. It's not meant to replace in depth diagnostics work, but it certainly makes quick insight very convenient in our day to day operations.

These launch tablet OBD readers are really a Snapon killer! This thing does everything and more than a Snap-on scanner can do. Extremely impressed with the user interface, customer support and how easy it is to use this system. It does everything that I could possibly need and more! I use it on a daily basis I have had zero problems with it. Updating it is easy also and it will scan and read just about any vehicle that you can throw at it! I'd give it more than five star rating if I could! So I'll say that I am extremely highly recommend the scanner over the Snapon one
